Korean Pancake

Warning: This is NOT what you may imagine it is when you read the word "pancake"!!! (But it is good!) Anyone squeamish may want to skip some of the pictures and not read the descriptions!

"Hmmm...what do you think it will taste like?" Sky gets started...

Whole squid that will be cleaned, gutted, and chopped into the pancake.

Washing the squid...and slitting it open.

Showing the whole squid...and I remember Kendra fratically taking this picture of the eyeballs before they dropped down into the drain. Apparently the eyeballs are good to eat...be we were glad to let the drain have them this time! (we do clean out the drain - the green basket...hurrah for James...he's our drainman!)

Chopping up a head of cabbage kimchi and beginning to mix ingredients together - water, flour, green pumpkin, peppers, garlic...

...onions, egg... (Joy: Wow! this is fun to watch)

Add in the meat...mix it all around...and it's pancake mixture!

Pour it in a pan, section and flip, and then it's ready to eat...

Yum!!! And Sky had made such a big batch we even had leftover batter for the next day!

Hi Wanda and family,

Enjoyed your posts! I'm proud of you for trying the squid! Both this pancake and the BBQ sound like something we eat a lot here in Japan. We don't put kimchee in our pancakes, though--will have to try that--Akihiro would love it I think.
