Beautiful Sun Umbrellas!!!
Umbrella shops are opening all over the place.
Tempted and ready to buy one? Here's how:
1. First locate one of the brightly colored spots in the market.
2. Then take your time purusing the hundreds of different patterns, colors, and styles.
3. When you're finished, indicate your choice and they will take it down. Then, if you're not familiar with how these fancy umbrellas open & collapse, they will give you a demonstration.
4. Since wire corrodes so quickly with the weather here, the nicer umbrellas use a hard plastic which snaps open & closed on the joints so that the umbrella can be folded down compactly. There is also a very definite way to "wrap" it together so it stores nicely.
5. Pay for your purchase, while wishing there was a 2-for-1 sale as you give one more glance over all the umbrellas! However, you sigh and walk away since one umbrella costs you $40. That umbrella is the souvenir I will leave Korea with. I had such a hard time choosing!
