I have assembled the pictures in order of walking around the house, including first the "before" pictures, followed by the "after" pictures. The house was not this messy upon our arrival, but I neglected to take pictures the first two days' work, so by the time I did, this is what the "before" pictures looked like - after we'd unpacked some, but before we'd gotten it organized! The "after" pictures show the results over several days and lots of help from Carrie.
Here is the entry way to the house. The back kitchen entrance to the church is directly across, connected by a covered walkway. It looks like in this picture, the church door is open as well. I hadn't noticed that! So, you walk in, take off your shoes, and - if you're neat - put them into the cupboard. Otherwise, they just tend to collect in front of the step.
This view is from the front door looking in. There is another door between the entry room and the house. The sink will be on the immediate right, and a hallway to the left as you will see in the next picture.
This picture was taken looking down toward the entry way door. This is where you would be coming into the house --- that door on the right. You can now see the bathroom sink, the hallway, and three doors on the left leading to first the toilet room, next the laundry & shower room, and then the office/future extra bedroom.
Now, here is the same view, but from the sink. You have come through the entry way, turned the corner, and can now see down to the living room, the back door to the garden, and the entry to the kitchen on the right. Next, you will "open" the three hallway doors on the right. James happened to be sweeping the living room when I took all the pictures, so you'll see him again a few more times.
Door #1: the toilet room....just enough room to sit yourself down and do your duty. And for those of you who are not familiar with such a fancy toilet seat, this seat can do many wondrous things! See that arm with those buttons & knobs? They control everything from the temperature of the toilet seat (yes, a warm toilet seat for the winter!), to options for giving you a washing spray after you're finished using the toilet, not to mention the temperature of that washing-water and the pressure with which it comes out! Plus there is also a fan to dry off if you wish. It certainly cuts down on toilet paper, that's for sure. :) It is quite the experience, and quite the addicting experience we've discovered! And here to realize that these kind of toilets were right there at school in DaeSan and we never knew what we were missing out on!!! All I knew was that there were lots of buttons and I didn't dare push one since I couldn't read and understand to know what would happen if I did! So, I suppose this could be considered the Asian-Western style toilet!
Now for Door #2: The laundry room. A short narrow hallway with a washer at the end and a another door through which is the shower. (next picture)
The whole room is the shower. The tub on the left is very deep, and we have not used it yet. For now we found that by stretching extra shower curtain rods across this room, we get more room to hang our laundry.
Door # 3: currently an office. We have moved our computer out to the living room now, though, so this will probably end up being a second bedroom in the future. We had boxes stacked in here to unpack...I don't yet have an "after" picture for this room.
Now coming to the end of the hallway. The living room and kitchen were added on, so the layout is unique. Our bedroom is actually smack in the middle of the house. From what I understand, the doors ahead were the outer windows at one time, or the doors to the garden...something like that, I'm not sure which. Because of these doors, they can be opened/closed from the living room into both the hallway and our bedroom. So ahead you see James in the living room, and by turning a left, you go into our bedroom.
Here's our bedroom as looking in from the hallway door. This is a "before" picture.
And here is another "before" picture as viewed from the livingroom door.
And then, here are the "after" pictures - from the hallway door........
(and yes, that's our big body pillow!)
..........and from the living room door! As you can see, there has been some changing around of the bed and the headboard! This is a waterbed, and we wanted it filled to the firmest amount possible. In pictures I'll post later, we got that help. But when we filled the tubes fuller, the old bed frame didn't seem able to handle the weight, so we took it out and now just have the mattress on the floor. Then, since we didn't need the headboard there, we moved it to navigate the room more easily, and I put a curtain over it to turn it into a little cupboard.
Now, on to the kitchen - which is just to the right at the end of the hallway, remember. A haven of cupboards!!!!!! Lots and lots of great storage space! It's wonderful!!!
And here's the kitchen "after" picture. The kitchen gets a full west sun, so it's nice that there is a "fellowship hall" type curtain to close off the kitchen when it heats up with sun or cooking. You can see the curtain best in the first picture.
Here's the living room as seen when entering in from the hallway. Lots of windows and light (during the day anyway) and the view is beautiful out to the backyard, the garden, and the grape arbor. I will get you pictures of those later, too.
....and here it is as seen from the kitchen - with a view to the last room of the house: the kids' bedroom through that door at the end of the couch. The corner with all the boxes is actually a traditional Japanese corner to set all your little nice things on, I've been told. 
And here's a close-up of the munchkins in the kitchen! The kids were awesome helpers, especially in the washing and drying dishes while the cupboards got cleaned out and then refilled.
And here's the kitchen "after" picture. The kitchen gets a full west sun, so it's nice that there is a "fellowship hall" type curtain to close off the kitchen when it heats up with sun or cooking. You can see the curtain best in the first picture.

And there you have it! I just realized that I have not taken any pictures of the house & church from the outside. I'll do that and include them later. I already have many more pictures to blog---our first night out for sushi, our first mountain hiking, filling up the water bed, and our beginnings to tackle an overgrown garden and yard. Unfortunately, I think we had the absolute best and quickest internet service in Korea and I am having a hard time being patient with the slower connection here...so be patient with me, too! :)
