I have been waiting for the chance to take a breather and sit down to write about all that happened to us over the weekend. But that will just have to wait since I have something else to tell you right now.
Yesterday morning, food was found partially eaten out of the package in the kitchen. After James, Jesse, & Joy each denied any knowledge of it, I said, "Look, guys. If mommy didn't eat it, and daddy didn't eat, then that only leaves one of you. We don't have a mouse in the house." Still no takers. Well then, last night we "staked" out the house figuring that whoever did it last night would come out again. And we were right! But it wasn't a who...it was a what. It seems we have a mouse in the house after all!!! I will be apologizing to the children when they wake up this morning. John's the only one who's actually gotten a glimpse of it, and according to him, it's a very large mouse...or small rat or maybe even a mole!
We were up at 4:30 tearing the kitchen apart to find him. Even though we've tipped the fridge over as far as we dared and swept underneath, we cannot reach him. He seems to have crawled right up there to stay for awhile. Since the mouse -or whatever he is!- will have the house to himself all afternoon, we are going to see what kind of trap we can find and buy before then. I can't stand the thought of a mouse in my kitchen! Just gives me the shivers. Every house I grew up in had mice, and since getting married, I have done my best to keep them out of every house I live in...with pretty good results! I think this mouse found his way in through the washingmachine pipe. The excess around that pipe will be packed with steel wool yet today! He's either getting trapped out for good or trapped in to await slaughter!`

Mouse/rat thing does not sound fun. I hope you catch it soon!...at least before it has a chance to sit on your alarm clock!!

Ha!! Don't think so! Especially since I don't have an electic alarm clock anymore!!! :)
Ugh Wanda! I wouldn't like that either...just something about animals in the house that don't belong there. Hope you catch it soon.
Yikes, a mouse in the house? That is scary but be thankful that it is just one. I have recently trapped 24 and cannot figure out how they are getting in!!! Hope you trapped the little fella.
