We went swimming at this big amusement park. We rode on a moped about 20 minutes from Hanoi to get there. We had Perfume our homestay provider, her son, Monkey and Jesse,and me on the one moped. Granma, James and (Perfume’s daughter) Anna went in the taxi.There were at least 6 slides if not more. Then there was a wave pool where us kids spent most of our time. There was also a bigger kiddie pool that wasn’t very deep but very fun. That night we went to the night market where families put stands up on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00pm till 11:00pm Vietnamese Time.
Mon,Sept 15
We went to a silk village where they showed us how they made silk material. There were many looms and they were very big and noisy. After that we went to the Tuliem, but was told it didn’t open till 2;30pm.So we went the only 1000 year old village in Vietnam which was about 11/2 hours away. That’s where we ate lunch and got to see a bride and groom posing for pictures. We saw them change at least 3 times when we were there. They take pictures all day, so who knows how many times they change. After that we went to the Tuliem, and was taken to a room. It took a while before we could actually see any any of the babies. They also said since it as the end of the summer some of them had pink eye,so we couldn’t go into their rooms. We still got lots of good pictures and also watched the director hand out soft candies and snacks. The babies reigned from babies to 5 year olds. When they were older than 5 years they went to another orphanage. This orphanage was a lot cleaner and the workers were volunteers so they cared for the babies and were very nice.
